The successful candidate can be based from any of our offices in Continental Europe.

Our Continental Europe Human Resources Team are responsible for one of the most diverse regions in AECOM. The current Human Resources Director for Continental Europe is required to take on other duties outside of the region so is seeking to identify a number two to their role, with the intention that the Head of Human Resources can transition to the Human Resources Director role for Continental Europe over 9 to 12 months. From the very outset, this role will be positioned as the successor, and will assume a growing responsibility for the regions Human Resources delivery.
Provide leadership and expertise for the Human Resource (HR) function across CE.
Working with all groups within the HR function, translate business strategies and objectives into the appropriate HR actions and initiatives.
Coach business leaders on issues of effective team building and organizational effectiveness.
Working with the business to ensure smooth delivery of operations.
Identify opportunities to go ‘back to basics’ and ensure clear HR processes and procedures are followed, allowing a greater focus on the wider talent agenda.
Ensure proper implementation and execution of HR programs and initiatives, including those that are enterprise-wide.
Manage employee relations issues with an eye towards ensuring AECOM remains an employer of choice.
In partnership and in accordance with Talent Management COE, advise and facilitate people management, career development and training.
Measure and monitor key HR performance indicators with focus on driving retention, time-to-hire and other metrics as appropriate.
Develop appropriate human resource plans in support of key business needs in a dynamic, changing environment and develop / implement appropriate change management plans as required.
Partner with HR Centres of Excellence to drive forward the people strategy.
Consult with the Regional CEO to define roles and missions, design the organizational structure,and improve organization effectiveness.
Lead and facilitate change efforts, including cultural change, HR procedural change and enterprise organizational change as needed.
In partnership and in accordance with out Compensation and Benefits Centre of Excellence, provide counsel in the design and implementation of compensation and recognition programs.
Facilitate communications throughout the organization including employee surveys.
Act as an impartial advocate to ensure that all individuals receive fair and equitable treatment.
Specific Skills Required:
Experience operating in a similar level within the HR function.
Experience of working within, or being responsible for, multiple Continental European locations.
Experience of M&A, integration and change activity
Experience in navigating efficiently through a matrix organization.
Experience of leading remote teams and managing a diverse workforce
Fluent English, with a second language preferable.
Internationally recognised professional HR membership preferred but not essential
Must be mobile and available to travel around Continental Europe when required
- Degree level qualification in a relevant field
